The PJ wants to attack friend's silence pact

Tests mark Maddie's death

The definitive result of the tests that recently arrived from England left no doubts for the Policia Judiciaria's investigators. The blood that was found in the McCanns' car is really from Madeleine, just like the residues that were detected in the house that was rented by the English couple, and from where the child, then aged three, disappeared from without a trace.

Another barrier for this investigation is the penal context that is at its core. The PJ's inspectors defend that it was an accident, which places the crime on the level of an accidental or negligent homicide. The rest of the crimes are those of concealment of a cadaver and simulation of an abduction, which under no circumstances foresees preventive imprisonment, and the use of evidence like phone listening.

As far as CM was able to discover, even if the friends of the English couple don't add anything to the investigation, the inquiry will most likely produce a public accusation. This is an action that falls under the responsibility of the Public Ministery, though, and the PJ can only suggest the juridical qualification.

Kate and Gerry McCann will also never be judged in Portugal, as the process will be sent to England after it is concluded, where it will be appreciated by that country's Justice.

The possibility that Gerry and Kate are not Maddie's parents - given as certain by the 24Horas newspaper - was never anything but an academical possibility, which was dismissed at the beginning of the investigation when the DNA of the missing child was collected. DNA is not from the twin siblings

Many residues were collected by the PJ, and there is no possibility that those that are attributed to Maddie come from her twin siblings, Sean and Amelie. Blood trail leaves the investigators without doubts

It is not only the fact that traces have been found which coincide with Maddie's DNA, that leads the investigators to believe that this is a death case.
