MADDIE COPS TOLD TO SEARCH UNDER EVERY ROCK

The new investigation chief Paulo Rebelo is convinced the four-year-old’s body is buried in that area and is drafting in reinforcements.

One of the searches will focus on a remote hillside reservoir which is a popular local beauty spot and wildlife haven.

Barragem da Bravura is a man-made lake divided by a dam with a single track road across the top.

Though it is only a short distance from the main A22 road, the “wild reservoir�?is surrounded by dense forest and the only building for miles is a  detox clinic.

Search teams will scour the beach and an old cemetery outside the church in Praia da Luz.

They also plan to search the sands in the neighbouring resort of Burgau.

Since Wednesday Rebelo’s  team has twice searched the apartment where Madeleine disappeared, followed a sniffer dog “death trail�?to the church, and reconstructed the movements of the McCanns and their holiday pals that day.

Last night’s massive new search operation was launched after it was revealed a bloody footprint had been found in the McCanns�?apartment.

It matches a print found on the bumper of the silver Renault Scenic they hired 25 days after Madeleine vanished.

Tests at the Forensic Science Service laboratory in Birmingham showed there’s a “moderate’�?chance the blood belonged to Madeleine.

Police are expecting the results of further tests within 24 hours and it is further evidence that could link Madeleine’s parents Kate and Gerry to her disappearance.

Over the weekend the McCanns joined church-goers at two services near their home in Rothley, Leics, dedicated to Madeleine.

Kate wept at the first service on Saturday where a collage of photos showing Madeleine playing in the garden and pedalling on a bicycle took pride of place at the altar.
