Hey Dr Evvvvvvvvvvil <g>

Well, depends, the early tail lights were actually glass lens that were held in by the rubber ring and metal crome ring clip. The later ones were made of plastic, and had screws that held in the lens. Good news is the plastic lens is the same size as the orginal glass lens, so, assuming your rubber and crome ring are still good to go you could use the plastic lens in place of the glass one... only down side is the screw holes in the plastic lens will allow moisture to get into the bulb area. But, if you have the plastic screw type now, then your good to go!

Now the good and bad news. Good news is you can still get the lens from NISSAN. Bad news is you cant buy just the lens, you have to buy the whole tail light assembly. Here is the part number for the whole tailight:

26520-C4200

Which runs about $29.00, mention you are a member of this sight and nissanautoparts.com will give you 25% off that.

All in all much less then a trillion! ;0

Grant
P.S. what I did is took used the old tail light assy, put the plastic lens in and drilled 2 small holes threw the assy to hold the lens in. Had to because the rubber and crome ring are no more! :(

Another note, if you plan on using the whole new assy, and you have the old assy type you will have to drill a little bigger hole threw the body, in that the new assy is a bit bigger around the base.

I need the tailights and front blinker signal lights with crome bessels. Are they available anywhere?    I can't tell if the posted part # here is for my earlier variety or the later plastic ones. Thanks.

It is for the plastic ones. And just the rear ie tail light. The front lens, and assy is no more as far as I can tell. I even tried to get them from AUS about a year ago, back when they could still send stuff to the USA and they had none! Strange, cuz in AUS they actually have/had two front blinkers... one white running light, and one yellow blinker... but niether could be found by the guys at a NISSAN dealer in AUS. I did manage to get a few yellow lenses out of them though... but not the whole assy. At that time, he said he did a search of all the parts in AUS and that the font lense I got were the last ones in AUS. So... again, it looks like we need to work on that petition that Fud mentioned to open up the parts in Japan!

Grant is right you can't get them anymore....I got two lens in the early nineties here in USA but they were plastic not glass and were only amber, it did come with the chrome ring but it was lighter weight and flimsy. The double front lens was a change made in the 70's on the 60 series....I am unsure what year it was done but all Patrols have that after a certian year in the 70's. I need the same thing on two of my Patrols....The prob is the seat that has the small tab/posts that hold on the chrome ring and lens usually gets rotten, once the tabs are rotten the ring and lens will fall off and then it is a screwed deal. In my 65 parts book you can't order the seat only....lens, ring or whole assembly is it...not that it matters because none is available.

Thing to do at this point is find decent used ones, make sure you have a good seat, and have the ring rechromed....that is my plan anyways.

I still haven't figured out the deal with clear vs amber turn signals though....at first I thought it was clear early on then amber but from brochures I have that seems to be incorrect....I see both on early and late Patrols, ie 61 vs 68. Maybe this was an option or something....

Anyways sorry Vike we are all in the same boat on this one and a lot of people need the whole assembly for both front and rear.

My son is teaching in Japan. If I can get him the part # for the glass/crome bezeled signal lights, he can buy some and send them to me in the mail - hope hope etc.... Part #?  If this works, maybe he can do a group purchase and send me a Christmas present.

Hey Vike,

I would be very intrested in getting in on the "present" if possible. I have diffrent part numbers than Grant, don't know which will work...his are probily newer numbers but same parts. Here's numbers I have....

26120-45502 Assy-Lamp, parking & turn signal with rim (this is what I need badly!)
26121-44000 Lens, should be amber and it is glass
26123-44000 Assy-Rim

26520-44004 Assy-Lamp, stop, tail& turn signal with rim
26080-02701 Assy-Lamp, stop, tail & turn signal (no rim)
26123-02700 Assy-Rim, parking & turn signal lamp

26120-45503 Assy-Lamp, parking & turn signal with rim (N.America)
26090-02701 Assy-Lamp, parking & turn signal
26123-44001 Assy-Rim, parking & turn signal lamp

26520-44005 Assy-Lamp, stop, tail & turn signal with rim (N.America)
26523-44000 Assy-Rim, stop, tail & turn signal lamp

26525-44000 Assy-Lamp, turn signal with rim, rear (Australia)
26520-07300 Assy-Lamp, turn signal
26133-27160 Lens, turn signal lamp
26529-44000 Assy-Bracket, turn signal lamp

26120-45504 Assy-Lamp parking & turn signal with rim, amber (N.America)
26124-44200 Assy-Lamp parking & turn signal
26121-44200 Lens, parking & turn signal, amber

26120-45505 Assy-Lamp, parking & turn signal with rim, amber (N.America)

That is about it....I realize it is a lot of numbers but most should be the same if any come up in Japan. A few of my numbers might have a primer rim but that is easy to have chromed.....Everything you need two of. I don't have a listing for the later len's because my book is 65. I think all my part numbers are with amber lens, didn't include #'s for gum seat cause I think that is easy to make. Like I said I need the bracket for front turn signals badly, several sets. I would be very happy if you turn anything up, just say where to send my money and it is a done deal!

GOOD LUCK!!

Ian

As a Canadian I am not subject to the trade restrictions affecting purchase of used Nissan parts from Australia and I recently bought a set of front blinker and park lights with crome bezels but  . . . . . it turns out that those used on Patrols in Asia and Australia/ Africa etc are not quite the same - which explains the part # with (NAmerica). The lens seem the same but the bezels are half as thick without the heavy tapered effect of those used on rigs sold in the States. The lights sit on a tapered heavy piece of rubber that creates the tilted effect rather than the bezel itself. I am not sure if this is a taste thing - Americans like their crome heavier and thicker - or a reflection of the fact that there is only the blinker light on the North American rigs rather than the blinker and park as used in other countries. see my photos re the Fukuyama Patrols to see the difference. They are in "my 66 in progress". I short, we have to be careful to use the NAmerican part # for the signal lights to obtain the correct bezel.

Years ago someone had found a Chevy plastic bullet type amber front turn signal that was the same size as the Nissan.  If thats the style you rig needs.  My 63 has bullet and the 67 has the flat glass.  I think that they had figured out by 67 that the plastic bullet type stuck out and broke in the bush.  I looked them up a long time ago and they fit but I didnt need any....Happy hunting
