Hey patrol fans, I have a patrol that has come to me in immaculate condition except the drive train is missing. I have chosen to replace the straight nissan L6 with a chevy 250 straight six. The transmission is a top loader 4 speed out of a truck and the transfer case is a gear on gear for a chevy as well. the parts are so much easier to obtain as well as the maintenance issues of this particular drive train especially throughout the united states. I am seeking advice on motor mounts as well as tranny mounts and how to hook up the clutch linkage. I have a huge box full of original parts as well so if you need something contact me.
Smoothie- I am lookin for a couple parts got anything left? BTW I am in St. Paul, Mn and travel to see family in Sioux Falls occasionally. Maybe we should organize the first Midwest Patrol Rally. WHat do you guys think?
I just the joined the Nissan Patrol Club and found your message from June '08 indicating that you live in Aberdeen and have a Patrol. I live at Raymond about sixty miles southeast of Aberdeen and have a 1966 Patrol that has been in the shed and not run for a number of years. I bought it years ago and it was a bad oil bunner. After a few years I ordered parts from the dealer in Aberdeen and installed rings, bearings and a couple of valves. The rings never seemed to seat properly and it continued to push huge amounts of oil through. I finally parked it in the shed and it has been there for many years. After finding the club site I am thinking about getting it going again. What do you have? Is it original or has it had an engine transplant? I had thought about a different engine to simplify parts availability but the adapter plates seemed rather spendy at the time so I just abandonded the whole thing. I thought I probably had the only one on this side of the state. I have seen a few in Rapid City years ago and in the early '80s my cousin knew a kid in college in Brookings who had one with a buda diesel from an Oliver combine installed.
