I have a 67 without locking hubs so I dont know the ins and outs on that one. I do have a similar quirk with my Ford truck and get it to cooperate by inching it back or forward. It might help to have it in neutral? No strain on linkage I guess is the main key. Safety first, e brake or block wheels.

Geekwood, thanks for the information. I have one more question. The locking hub on the drivers side is extremely hard to turn by hand. Almost impossible to turn the enitre way to engage. However, the other side can be turned easily by hand. Anyone have the same trouble. Should I used some sort of wrench to to turn the hub? Thanks.
