I asked about this a while back
has any body done the conversion with the T 18 transmission yet with the original motor

if you have send pictures and how you did with the mod

I have a buddy that is a machinist and he doesnt think that there will be any real
problem
were are going to shorten the input shaft and turn down to fit into the pilot bushing and fab an adapter plate so it will bolt into place and will have to change  the clutch

I never did it but I bought a transmission and T-case but sold the Patrol. Advance adapters sells new input shafts of various lengths and the splines are supposedly the same as the Patrol. It would be a great swap. Good luck!

I don't know if a p-40 starter will work on the p engine. Forklift parts shops can get you a new p-40 starter. Or you can have a auto electric shop rebuild your old one.

Hows this coming along? I've always wondered if it was a bolt on deal? Jeep j10 tugs have a nissan diesel that supposed original to the patrols. Scouts also used some of these diesels? I've seen a few scouts and cj's with the diesels. That's would open up thousands of combos for us.

Please let us know goes.
