Hi John,
 
I am using a rubber pipe cap (used for a cast iron pipe) as my master cyclinder cap. It seems to work and fits snugly without the clamp that it cam with, I found it at the local ACE hardware store.
 
"Pipeconx" by Uniseal,  Made in USA. Evaansvill, Indiana
 
 1-1/2 inch cap fits my 65 patrol..
