Hey gang.
A recent message got me to thinking. The subject was about the identification numbers of PATROLS. The column titles of our registry should corspond with the service manual names, and the names on the Vehicle Identification Plate (VIP not VIN). This would remove some confusion. I also put together a picture that shows the locations of where you can get this info from your PATROL.
Currently we have 3 columns that are close to the service manual names and VIP names. It would be great if we could add a few columns to get all the data off of the VIP! But I would settle just to match up the column titles with the names on the VIP and in the service manual.
The 3 columns we have now are
1) KL60 (hardtop) or L60 (softtop)
2) Frame (Serial) Number
3) Engine Number
Here are the names from the service manual and VIP plate, respefully
1) TYPE (P.O. VIP)
2) Vehicle Serial Number
3) Engine Serial Number
Now, if we could add a few columns I would include the additional info that is on the VIP for something like this:
1) VIP:Type
2) VIP:Engine Capacity
3) VIP:MAX HP at RPM
4) VIP:Wheel Base
5) VIP: Engine No.
6) VIP Car No.
7) Vehicle Serial Number
8) Engine Serial Number
We could probally dump number 6 in that I think it will allways be "P". But the other info could come in handy when we start to build a data base and history of these vehicals.
Anyway, just a thought, it kind of confused me, but, Im like that! <G>
I included a picture that I doctored up a bit. It would be great if this picture, and or a link to it could be included on the page so folks would know where to look for this info.
