General Description
My brothers and and I and our friends are generally military vehicle collectors. The 68 Patrol was purchased by one of my brothers for 300 bucksand we figured what the hell, it looks kind of like a Rover, let's militarize the thing. The hard top was fairly well rusted out, so we cut that off and turned it into a soft top; it's now painted Marine Corps green and sports a variety of US military equipment including radios that we bolted on, and it all went together very nicely and looks quite authentic. We love the thing and belive it is quite superior to the 1/4 ton jeep. As a "military" vehicle it is roundly shunned by the military vehicle collector snob, because as far as they know it wasn't used except in India and maybe Japan, but Nissan did offer a "with Military Equipment" package, so we belive it is more than legit. And unlike most military vehicle collectors, we take our vehicles out to the bush and use them as they were intended; as cross-country transportation, as gun platforms (God bless America), and cargo haulers etc...The Patrol is an outstanding vehicle that, especially when in-field, impresses everyone who gets to see it perform; it's a great rig. If anyone out there has real pictures of the G60 Patrol in use as a real military vehicle anywhere, we'd love to see the pics.
