Although I don't write poems myself, I often come in here to read the poems which I enjoy very much.  I recently came across this poem while searching through my files, it was written for me by a  friend about 2 years ago. I thought it terribly sweet of him so thought I'd share it with you all

FROM THE HEART
what can be written?
what can be said?
about the thoughts that swirl inside my head.
her smile holds me captive
tighter than chains,
but this is a bondage
which I can't explain.
but while I'm enraptured,
she seems not aware,
in this the dilemma I'm having to bear.
Failing to tell her
Letting my feelings be known,
One and one together, or two both alone?
Wisdom says silence,
Emotion confess,
Risks are worth taking, but are risks always best?
of this ship I'm the captain,
yet her reaction's the sea,
maybe the harbour I'm leaving is safest for me.
what should I think?
what do I expect?
that this rhyme is the rock on which I'll likely be wrecked.

Flower, your poem has come just at the right time....May we all take the risk once in a while to let someone know how we feel, then we could avoid the rock in the poem. Thank you for sharing it... I have to let someone know how i feel before it is too late

Go for it River....and Good Luck with it  And yes Flower thank you for sharing such a lovely poem with us here. It is nice to see that people take the time to try and make sense of these hearts we are often burdened by....Love is a wonderful thing! May we someday be wise enough to understand it and courageous enough to accept it!
