I recently came across this article in our local paper,
      Calling All Poets
The Poetry Institute of Australia is offering $10,000 in prizes in its annual contest.
The FREE competition is open to poets of all ages who write on any subject or in any style.
All poems must be original works and must not be more than 24 lines long. Each line should be no longer than 12 to 14 words per line.
Entries should be faxed to (07) 3286 7661 or emailed to [email protected] by May 31, 2005.
They can also be posted to the Poetry Institute of Australia, PO BOX 1545, Cleveland, Queensland,4163.
Please make sure all entries include your name and address details on the same piece of paper as the poem is written.

So i thought if anyone was interested they could put thier pens to paper and start writing a nice poem of some sort as i have seen a few nice ones in here.

oooops  i forgot to say i'm not sure how people from overseas would be able to enter the competition as it is Australian based, but i suppose you could still try, who knows you might even win.
