Summer Dusk
by: Seraph
the sun is warm on my back
the crickets chirp from the trees around me,
the blue sky is cloudless,
no reminder of the storms that have passed
the birds sing, cicadas chant
a light summer breeze
blows the trees
leaves drift daintily down to the ground
the sun sets on the skyline
behind a row of tall trees
I look around, not a house in sight
no sign of life
except for the sign posts.
its a summer night like this,
that makes you forget your worries,
makes you sit and wonder of nature.
the majestic green hills
set beneath the tie-dyed blue and orange sky
say goodbye
then gradually pulls up its blanket
deep dark blue in colour
and slowly drifts to sleep,
turning on its night lights
signalling for the world
to stop and sleep
the night away
