Willie was a staunch Rangers supporter, a card carrying member he bought his season ticket every year no matter the cost. One day the excitement of following his heroes was too much for Willie however and his big blue heart gave out. His wife Annie was beside herself with grief when the undertaker called to make the necessary arrangements and to remove the remains. When asked if she had any special requests regarding the funeral arrangements Annie choked back the tears and told the undertaker, 'Well Willie always wanted to buried in a blue suit ... a Rangers blue suit! He was saving up for one to put in the back of the wardrobe for just such an occasion but of course he never did have enough money for it ...what with the cost of his season tickets etc ... I would have liked an open casket, too ... but if he isn't going to meet his maker in a blue suit .... well I will be in a bad enough state at the funeral ... I don't know what I would be like if he isn't in a blue suit.

The day of the funeral came and when the family arrived at the church, Annie was surprised to see that the casket was open. On filing past to make their last respects she noticed that instead of the old dark suit the undertaker had taken away with him, Willie was now resplendent in a bright blue three piece! The funeral went according to plan and over a cup of tea and a sausage roll at the 'purvey', Annie remarked how so very grateful she was to the undertaker for having taken the trouble to ensure Willie's last request was catered for.

He said, 'Och it wis nae problem, hen! I had another job come in the same morning ... a closed casket job, and HE was wearing a bonnie blue suit...... it seemed such a waste so ....

(wait for it!)

....so we just switched the heids!'
