Right, sit tight and no fidgeting at the back, and NO rattling crisp bags, I need to explain. As you all know I was told that during my skin cancer treatment I would have a few immunity problems. Sooooooooo when I started getting all chesty and coughy I just thought I had a chill and picked someone sneezy germ up. However it got worse and was particularly bad when I tried to lie down at night, it was all crackly and wheezy. I was rubbing all the relevant parts with Deep Heat and going over the steam cup with Menthol crystals in ( and there's a short cut for blowing your brains out). Then my feet and ankles started swelling so I went to the doctors, I take so much medication that I can't just pop out and buy over the counter stuff in case there is some ingredient that doesn't mix with my medication, so even for a simple thing like a cough mixture I have to go to the doctors. I went down last Wednesday and was asked to go back next morning and have a blood test, then go back again next week for the results. Off I went and she took 4 bottles of blood (damn near an armful) and that was at 10-15, at 3pm I got a phone call asking me to go straight down to the surgery, Stacie was at our house at the time so she took me down. I was grumbling all the way down on the assumption they wanted more blood, or had done it wrong. However the doctor told me that they had received a phone call from the hospital telling them I was so anaemic I needed to go straight in hospital for a blood transfusion, and also the tests showed I was in heart failure, hence the excess fluid....sigh Now here comes the problem, I refused the transfusion, I know...I know... you may think that's silly but the thought of someone elses blood rattling around my veins gives me the willies {{shudder}} The doctor gave me some iron tablets and after two days I was so sick I brought everything up but my slippers. I suggested iron injections and I know they're not nice because I've had them before and my arse was like a Victoria plum when they'd finished, but the doctor wasn't keen on that idea. I have to go back on Thursday for another blood test (if I'm so anaemic why do they keep taking the bit I've got?....lol), then go see the doctor on Friday and give my decision then. So my friends if I do have to go in hospital I will be missing for a day or two. I have Snuzz's number so will be able to text her if I do vanish (If I go...lol) Mo xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx | |

I will be going for another blood test on Thursday and will see the doctor Friday, if the transfusion is what it takes then I'll have to go for it (gulp) I feel as insubstantial as a piece of tissue paper, so obviously something will need to be done. Thank you all of you, for your kindness and concern, I will let you know how it goes. Mo xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |
