This Tuesday I'm picking up my Smith & Wesson 637, 38spl + P. I was a bit leary of getting a .38 for a pocket pistol, mainly due to all the hype about a .38 being underpowered for that role, but I found some info that might be usefull.
Cor-Bon has a new line called DPX in .38spl + P. It has 100% copper bullets, no lead. The bullet weight is 110 grain, and produces 1,100 fps. Not shabby from a 2" barrel. In a block of ballistic gelatin, it's average travel path is 15". Bullet expansion is .60". Even through heavy cloth tests of Denim material, the bullet retained consistent .60 expansion. Impressive. According to the Cor-Bon website, a box of 20 rounds is $16.99.
