I never knew they made a HP in .32. What do you know about it and does it pack a more lethal pop than ball FMJ?

All things being equal, a JHP will do more damage than the FMJ.

What you need to do is buy a box each of various brands.  Run at least one full magazine of each brand to make sure your pistol will feed it reliably.

Some pistols don't like some kinds of hollow points and others feed and function OK.  Use what works best.

Bullet weight of the .32 ACP (7.65x17SR) JHP is 60 grains.

Get a box of:
CorBon
Hornady XTP
Speer Gold Dot
Federal Hydra-Shok
Fiocchi XTP
Winchester Silver Tip

Run at least one full magazine of each manufacturer's JHP through your .32 Cobra to check for feed and function.  Use what works best and save the rest for social encounters.  Use FMJ for practice and plinking.

MG, this will be a slow process for me as I can't get out as often as I'd like and I don't wish to be stuck with a bunch of ammo that may or may not work in my Cobra. I'll use your list above, but will try a different one each month starting with the Hornady XTP. I hope I can find a good HP for my .32 and save the FMJs for practice!

BTW, what do you think of these?

6rds - 32 Auto Extreme Shock 60gr. Enhanced Penetrating Rounds

This is Extreme Shock 32 Auto 60gr. Enhanced Penetrating Rounds (EPR). The Enhanced Penetration Round (EPR) was engineered for applications where greater penetration is a must. The EPR has greater terminal success through glass and wood to maintain the lethality of the round. This round has the ability to penetrate heavy skin, dense bone, and then fragment once inside the softer tissue of the target.  This ammo is packed in 6rd. packs.
