Colin
i was first diagnosed with ptsd in 1970 when they called in "the vietnam syndrome"
that was just after my second tour (swift boats)
i medicated myself with booze
same as i do now
but now the big difference is that i can sleep
its amazing how much difference that makes
and im on "social" pills (paxil) that makes me somewhat normal (sic)
the va never knew that i thought about suicide
and still doesnt
they are treating
my social problems
my not being able to sleep
being hyperactive when startled
not trusting almost anyone but combat vets
sweats
you know the drill
the fight with the va took 13 years
and i finally got there by going to my pro vet congressman
who couldnt figure out why the va was giving me problems
when i have a chest full of combat medals including ph
and you know i never see the faces of those i killed
just the faces of my buddies and friends that died
