When you go hunting, do you use camo or the traditional red hunting jacket?

I no longer hunt, but when I did, I just wore blue jeans, T-shirt and a jacket or vest.

In IL you must wear 400 square inches of  Blaze Orange (including a solid-color hat or cap) when hunting.  Blaze Orange camouflage is NOT allowed.

Only wild turkey hunters are allowed camouflage while hunting.  This is a full camouflage outfit including facemask and gloves.  When hunting wild turkey, DO NOT wear anything that is red, white, or blue.  Wild turkey males have these colors on their heads and males use them to attract females.  Use a Blaze Orange game bag to carry your wild turkey from the field.  Otherwise, you might get shot by another turkey hunter.  While stalking wild turkey, do not move around.  Find a place to hunker down and let the game come to you.  Once you get your bird, do not rush out to claim your trophy; wait to see if you can see or hear other hunters.  When you do go out to retrieve the bird, announce yourself loudly so that any other hunter in the area knows you are there.

Your particular state will have its own hunting regulations, and most will differ from those of IL.  Know what the rules are and abide by them.  The one rule that remains a constant is for wild turkey hunters -- NO red, white, or blue in the field.
