A very good friend of mine that wanted several of my WW2 rifles and was willing to pay me a fair price for them.  I sold them to him on the provision that if he ever wanted to sell them, I wanted the first opportunity to buy them back.

He got a like new M1903 Sprinfield (Rock Island Armory, first year of production in 1906, with a four-digit serial number) complete with an M1905 bayonet and M1910 scabbard to match; a pristine 1937 manufacture Mauser Kar 98k rifle with bayonet and scabbard; a No. 4 Mk 1 (T) Enfield sniper's rifle with No. 32 scope and mount and wooden transport case.  All of this is rare and pricey hardware.

Then dufus got married and his wife turned out to be a whore who slept with any guy in town (our metro area is 250,000 so she had a target-rich environment).  When he found out, he filed for divorce.  However, he did not kick the bitch out.  While he was gone to work, she sold all his guns including the three of mine, and split with the money.  Both of us were sick and p.o.'ed about what she did, but there was nothing either of us could do.  I hope there's a special spot in Hell reserved for his ex-wife.
