I'm not trying to be petty, but glancing through my latest National Rifleman magazine, there were 2 advertisements for gun products that really irk me.
The 1st one shows a guy sitting in a parking garage holding his head, there's a semi-automatic pistol on the ground next to him. The caption on the ad says; 'The bad guy didn't have a laser sight.'
Does that mean that if you don't have a laser, then you have no chance? The laser is pure magic and allows you to hit your target no matter what the circunstance? Pure bullcrap! There's no mention training and knowledge is what protects you in a dire attack, not some stupid red light.
2nd ad; Para-USA for their new 9mm pistol called PDA, which supposedly stands for Personal Defence Assistant. The name is what offends me. Again, are we 'The Public' suppose to believe that this is a magic gun that will protect us? The ad down plays the choice of carrying a snubnose revolver, due to the fact (?) that it is much heavier, cumbersome, and has 3 less rounds. My S&W model 637 weighs 15oz empty, much lighter than the 9mm. I can conceal the little pistol in my hand or jean pocket, and I can shoot quite deadly with it. After all, it only takes 1 shot to be deadly, just because their gun holds 8+1, just means more weight & the possibilty of shooting with the 'spray & pray' method of a novice. I know Para makes a fine gun, it's just this name irked me.
I'll sit down now & shut up.
