This is the place where I can piss & moan, so here it is:

Everyone at my work place knows I'm a avid gun lover/shooter. A 20yr old co-worker has a strong interest in firearms, and has asked me to teach him the basics, and to go shooting with me at the range to try out different handguns. I told him that he must wait until he's 21yrs old and gets a FOID card, a requirement in Illinois for purchasing ammo or a firearm. He told me yesterday that his birthday is next month and he already has the form filled out for his card. Everyday he asks about different calibers and types of handguns, his main concern is home defense since he resides in a questionable neighborhood, just last week there was a stabbing outside of his condo which he witnessed and identified the attacker to the police.

Here's where it gets sticky. My boss is the father of this young man, and he is extremely againest guns. Everytime there is a fatality from shooting, he puts the newspaper article on my desk or posts it in the shop. But there's Hell to pay if I post a pro-gun article or try to argue with him about our 2ND ammendment rights. I've learned to keep quiet and just let him do 'his thing'. Last night when I was leaving work I was called into his office. He told me in no uncertain terms I am not to talk about guns anymore at work with anyone. He told me that this warning is going into my personel file, and if I persue the subject I could be fired for insubordination.

Although my convictions are strong, I have too much to lose if I push this matter. So I guess the boss won. But it pisses me off to no end!
