White House: Bush to lift offshore drilling ban
Congress must still lift legislative ban before offshore drilling can start

BREAKING NEWS

WASHINGTON - The White House says President Bush is planning to lift an executive ban on offshore oil drilling.
In a Rose Garden statement on Monday, the president plans to lift the ban. But by itself, the move will not lead to more drilling off America’s coastline.
Congress must still lift its own legislative ban before offshore drilling can happen.
White House press secretary Dana Perino says Bush is acting now in hopes of spurring Congress to act. So far, lawmakers have shown no interest in doing so.

I wrote my rep from AZ, Ed Pastor, D-district 4, for him to back the prez and here is my letter:
Ed, the president is announcing his intention to re-open off shore drilling for oil exploration. That is great! Now we, the people of Arizona, especially us boys and girls in your little district #4, need you to back him up and approve the bill. This is no time to wallow to the greenies, Ed. We're in trouble...BIG TIME! We have our own oil and don't need foreign oil. Just let them get it. The places the oil companies can drill on now are damn near empty. Allow them to use their proven technologies to safely drill in the ANWR! They've had the pipeline there for years now with absolutely no damage to the environment. Technology is even better now. I want us to be able to tell all the arabs and venezuelans and indonesians to kiss our ass and use our own! I'm neither a democrat nor a republican. I am an Independent. I vote conservatively, but swear no allegiance to any party! I have cut back on the miles I drive, I lower the temp in winter and raise it in summer. I buy American whenever possible. I'm doing my part, now it's time for congress to do theirs. Support the president on this one, ED!

Pelosi-doosy-doo just ridiculed Bush's wanting to open off shore drilling. Think about about everything bad, evil and nasty you could say about a woman and you'd just be warming up to what I feel about Pe-looney-si!
