I've been meaning to take a drive up the Spruce River road for the past 2 weeks, but one thing or another has stopped me from going.
My sis and her hubby took a drive into Camp 1, Eskanonwatin Lake, and into Nonwatin Lake on the 6th of May.
She reports the road as being in excellent shape for this time of the year. She did have some disturbing news though, the water levels are well down from normal for May, infact she estimated that Nonwatin Lake was down to July or even later levels. Folks is well advised to remember that the last piece of road from the Muskrat turnoff to Spruce River is usually in rough shape!
I hope that this isn't because of the removal of the sluice dams at the south end of Black Sturgeon and Nonwatin Lakes.
