Took a spin up to Camp 1 on Eskanonwatin Lake this afternoon.  I was surprized to see that there is virtually no snow up there and that the road and ditches are dry.  The road between South Sucker and North Sucker is extremely rough as are the bridge lead ins.  The road gets a bit better north of North Sucker.  I only went as far as the Camp 1 road but I'm confident the snow is gone from the road all the way up to the Lakehead U research station.

Caution should be used when driving the road near it's edges.  Long cracks parallel to the ditches indicate that the road will fall into the ditch in places with the first rain or pressure of a truck.

The south end of Eskanonwatin is clear water and the remaining ice is rotten ... two wind changes and the lake will be clear.
