4-6 cakes of hard tack (hard bread) you can get it at the store.
2 pounds of salt cod
1 cup of salt pork finely diced
method
break each bread in 2 or 3 pieces and soak for 6-8 hours in cold wateruse lots of water.
soak salt cod in cold water for 6-8 hours changing water once.after that,,,,add fresh water to the cod and cook for 5 -10 minutes (simmer),,when cooked and cooled,,,take skin and bone from fish,,,flake the fish,,,,take the hard bread place in sauce pan, in just enough water to cover bread,,(use water it soaked in),,,heat slowly till it boils,,,drain immediately,,mix fish flakes with bread set aside,fry salt pork until golden brown and crisp,,,pour over the fish and bread,,,,,or you can use drawn butter if the salt pork is too much fer yer heart,,,,,but its good anyhoo,,,for bigguys mom,,,
