While dreamers
Dream their dreams
They see not the wolf
Deep in the forest
Nor close in at hand
As their dreams spin on
They feel not the bite
They feel not the urgency
Of others about
Once their dreams are done
They wonder who and why
Such a foul deed had done

While dreamers
Dream their dreams
Their worlds so coloured
They feel so alive
Their fears, their hopes
Their every desire
Burning in their minds
They scarce have time
To mind the wolf
They hear not
The repeated shouts
Yet somehow they fear
To let go the dream

While dreamers
Dream their dreams
Of heroes and deeds
Of villains most foul
The mundane and the wolf
Have no presence or threat
While they dream
A distance grows
Small at first
But yearly growing
When the wolf is found
The helping hand
Is far distant

While dreamers
Dream their dreams
They celebrate alone
Their cries heard not
Their very souls
Lost in the dream
They shrug off easily
Intrusions, appeals, loved ones
When dreams crash down
As surely one must
They face alone
One stark reality
