Very Much love this poem  Ed and the two lines that hit me the most would have to be        I'm leavin' this cold-land of sorrow;
            I'm having no regrets in the least.

Words with a lot of meaning in them

Thank u for your hospitality while i  visited in your country was most appreciated.

ps  wonder if i will ever see this cabin in the poem  .. sounds like a wonderful place ....Annie

Annie: Thank you for your endorsement of my poem VERNAL VOWS.

This poem was written to hi-lite the sheer joy of trapping. NOT the killing but the harvesting of fur. It's a great way to spend your time, working away for several months each year, saving  your furs until you take or send them to the buyer. Then you get the awful truth???? The beaver that you thought would bring in seventy-five dollars each get fourteen or less The muskrat which you heard were bringing fifteen dollars apiece might be worth two-fifty??

It went on every year - - the advertised prices were just BS! However, I used to pay my taxes with what I earned from the fur? NOW I'd have to trap EVERY muskrat in the county to do that?? LOL

The "cabin" was kinda "UP a lazy river" sort of thingy  - - and YES one day you may "find" it???  And, also, you are very welcome. You will be welcome at my abode any time you happen to be near??

Take care,  Ed -
