Summers End
Summers half done and it won’t be so very long.
The leaves will be turning, to complete their summer song.
Days will be getting shorter; nights will have a little bite.
Birds will be flocking up, to begin a long hard flight.
Squirrels are busily packing nuts and food away.
They anticipate a long cold winters stay.
Beavers are packing away sweet young wood.
They will eat well this winter and all will be good.
The wild flowers have given us a lovely site, each and every day
I’ve walked through fields and meadows; they take my breath away.
The rivers and creeks are slowing from the long summer heat.
If you listen very closely you can here mothers natures heart beat.
All of nature’s treasures are there for you to take a look.
That’s not smell or sight you’ll find in any book.
You can’t find these treasures on any store shelf.
So get out their and these things you’ll find inside your self.
