                     Tattered Heart

Sometimes it is hard to know just how to start.

To have ones emotions torn, from a life long tattered heart.

You have been down this ungentle road too many times before.

It makes it hard to open, that torn and battered door.

Saying goodbye to a loved one has always been so hard.

Yet, another piece of my heart is gently torn and scarred.

We rise each day and wonder what is in store.

We have had enough and scream inside, please, no more!

Again death has coldly walked through the family clan.

A mothers love was not made to feel it’s ugly span.

How much love are we given to share around.

Will this be the last time my tired heart will pound?

As I see the family bond together in this tragic time.

Draw strengths from each other, to help you make life’s climb.

I have been a part of this loving family for a long time now.

I feel your pain you’re saddened heart and sometimes wonder how.

You face each day bravely with a lifelong tattered heart.

Sometimes it is hard to know just how to start.

The love will always be there in your memories.

The loss of a family member can be devasting.  It time the pain will fad and the memories of the good times will help heal the wound
