The Missouri State Highway Patrol is now classifying the Sept. 8 death of a trucker at a rest stop north of Kansas City, MO, as a homicide. And they’d like to question a woman they describe as a “person of interest.”
The trucker – 39-year-old Valentin Kirilchuk of Springfield, MO – was found shot to death at a rest stop on Interstate 29.
Investigators said they want to locate a tall, slender white woman, approximately 30 years old, who has reddish-brown, shoulder-length hair and freckles. The woman was wearing a white blouse with a collar and designs throughout the exposed area of the shirt. She also wore a jacket or sweater that was unbuttoned. She reportedly spoke with a slight Southern accent.
Officials said they are also looking for a white SUV. Both the woman and the SUV, which had three occupants, were spotted at the rest stop around the time of the slaying.
