Real Life Trucking
My dad works around the clock, His nice clean truck makes the farmers talk. He likes to have his wheels shine bright, They glare like stars that shine at night. "Amazing Grace" is written on the side, Green and white letters neatly collide. As you can see neatness is the key, That can make any trucker drive happily. How many miles did you say? My dad does 550 everyday! My dad works hard for every dime. Most days, he makes it home on time. And when the time comes to do my part, Jumping on the iron horse is where I start.
I tighten and roll up the straps, Each strap holds the load intact. The load is heavy, but strapped down tight, I know I will sleep well tonight. And at home when I think my work work is done, The fun has only just begun! There are twenty-six tires still to check 4 axles to grease and we must sweep the deck. When we have everything, neatly in place, We walk to the house with a smile on our face. On those days when I work and ride with him I think "real life trucking" is nothing like the "Sims." Where driving truck is games and fun, And a push of a button gets the job quickly done. My dad works from 4 to 6 every day, On Sundays he worships, relaxes and plays. Saturdays are time for shine and repair, And at my games, he's sure to be there. My dad takes pride in his old "Pete" For others it is hard to beat. My dad sure likes his chrome, I sure love it when he gets home.
