When she was seven years old, James Copeland won the Tennessee seat in the State Congress. James brought his entire family with him on the campaign trail in his bid for the United States Congress; a young Serenity met with Congressman, Bill Clinton, a photo opportunity both the Clinton's and the Copeland's took with great pride. James Copeland eventually did win his seat in the US Congress, some four years after his first chance past him by; however, James relocated to Alexandria, Virginia, leaving his family behind in Memphis. While in Virginia, son Jason got sick and was diagnosed with leukemia, and in a chain of events, Serenity took over the household as her mother had the tendencies to fall into drunken comas, sometimes asleep for weeks on end.

James, his political aspirations still entact, returned to Memphis for only a few days. He returned to Virginia shortly after his son was sent to the hosptial; it was after this time that Serenity's relationship with her father turned sour, and some people say its the reason why she is trustworthy of people who she sees loves her as compared to others she can see turning against her. It was also at this time, that at eleven years old, she began to develope into a woman at a faster pace than other girls, making her the target of jealously, forcing her to be home schooled until she was a junior in high school. She caught the wrestling bug early on, watching Wendi Ritcher, Alundra Blaze and the Fabulous Moolah, gaining fame in the former WWF, or World Wrestling Federation. With the help of some of her brother's friends, they built a ring in the Copeland's back yard and soon everyone was at the house.

Serenity's track to wrestling superstardom was quickly laid to the way side when her brother died from complications of his chemotherapy. She took over the funeral arrangements at only eight years old and quickly called her father, who returned home immediately. This was Serenity's last gimmer of hope of having a good relationship with her father, however it was not meant to be...at this point
