Wait a minute.  We were always told that COMM Co were the E-lite members of the battalion and those of us in CommSpt were just their little helpers.

Is that yet ANOTHER falsehood that we've had to live with all these years?

Where are my meds?  I need'em now.

Jack,

Oh, NO!  I've been "outed" - for the second time in my life!  (The first time involved a closet, but let's not go into that.)

Ice, it breaks my heart   to have to do this, but call the FBI, quick!  If it's good enough for "Scooter" Libby for "outing" Valerie Plame (Junior CIA Agent), then a Federal pen is good enough for Big Dawg for "outing" Mikey, the Thane of Duninsane!

Throw 'im in the brig!

Jim,

Yeah, it probably was the hammer - but it's not my fault.  Your skull is so hard that when I tried to use the knife like a chisel, the hammer would slide off the knife and smack you in your melon - and that just made a teeny-tiny dent.  I finally had to use an e-tool.

I guess you didn't know that when I did manage to get your skull open, a lot of foul-smelling smoke came out.  I guess you did burn a lot of shitters.  Maybe you should have worn a mask?

When I have time one of these days I'll tell you about the 1st official day of the burning of the shitters, and Camp Hoa Long.  It was a Sunday

Dawg,

OK, I'll bite on that story, lay it on us, arf,arf..  I think that's how they recruited me on that detail, "would you like to learn a Buddhist ritual that usues incense? ".  I recall one story of a guy that pulled out the pot and damn near castrated an officer, who wanted to return the favor on the perp.

You is right it was about any Officer
getting the "family Jewels) caught
on the barrel when it was yanked out.
I don't remember the name of the Marine PVT or what unit he was in, but
it did happen on a Sunday, and it was the first day weburned the barrels
on our own.  The Capt was
D.O McGhee (the bn Maint Officer) the Bn CO was Col Leesburg

Dawg,

Aha, I remembered it was connected to a relegious day from your last recap of the story. One vague memory I have of '68 shit burning is that we took some "honey pots" with us to the dump on a 6 by along with the mess hall slop ( which lil VN ladies dumped into troughs for the refugees to sift through for a fee), and I think we burned the shit at the dump instead of in the camp area. Needless to say, the bed of that truck was a slippery mess and had to be pressure washed at the Motor T every day.

SF,

Dick

Jack,

Ah, but the funniest one was the fate of the old "deep ditch" head in the Battlion area in late '66 or early '67.  Regale the multitudes with that tale of woe, if you would.  (And if any of you were in the shirt burning detail that day, I hope the burns have healed without any scarring, even though I laughed so hard at the time I almost cracked a couple of ribs.)
