Today's the 26th.  I wonder what the rifles all sold for?

I would have loved to get my hands on one of the M1s.  They looked like they were in better condition that what we had during my first enlistment.

I'm sure that they went for a bunch.

Dick,

My computer is down and I'm using my wife's, so I can't get on the 5th Comm website or send this to everyone.  I went to the auction on Saturday, got a few things which I was willing to pay what the price went to, and dropped out of quite a few when the price got to more than I was willing to pay.

As you can see, the prices that people paid for the M-1's were pretty ridiculous and I wouldn't have paid them even if I could have afforded them.  Granted, some of them were collectors' items and all were in excellent condition, but $19K for a gas trap M-1?  Insane!

Don't know what all that extra text and stuff added is from.  Those prices are right up there for sure.

Anyhow, I wonder how many old ARVN's still have an M1 buried by his hootch in Nam.  When the M16 was forced on me, I recall being jealous of an ARVN I was with somewhere as his M1 looked like it came straight out of the cosmolene.

SF,

Dick
