Well still around we managed to get away with just a little damage to my archway but my bird bath was destroyed , see pictures.
they told us we had a foot of rain and winds of 120 miles an hour very frightening my next door lost part of her roof and it moved her garden shed several feet luckyly mine is bolted down.
we lost power for only a short time but just a few miles from us there were without power for 21 hours and in outlying areas they are still without power 4 days later
on the outskirts of town we have some large forrest and hundreads of trees are down.
also several large trees damaged our water supply by breaking the pipeline, we have water but are told to use it sparingly, most of my town nelson is being supplied by water tankers, they tell us they are using helicopters to remove the trees so they can fix the pipeline, but on the good side no was has been hurt, since last tuesday we have had 3 storms one after the other.
If you watch the video you will see one lucky motorist this was filmed about 5 mins drive from me the police told him go by a lotto ticket TEDDY
