Easy Homemade Salsa


Ingredients

1-28oz. can whole tomatoes, drained *SAVING JUICE aside
half of a medium onion, diced
2-3 fresh jalapenos, cut off stems slice lengthwise, cut out seeds and pith, then dice
a dash 2 : garlic powder, salt, pepper, and oregano
1 1/2 tsp. sugar 
 
**(Additional ingredients follow in directions) 

Procedure

Chop above ingredients a little in blender or food processor,(don't puree), set aside.
 
In frying pan, saute 1 green pepper, diced, and other half of onion, chopped, in 1 Tbl. salted butter with 2 Tbl. of the tomato juice for 5 minutes Add tomato mixure from blender and slow boil for 5 minutes. Stir in 1 tsp. vinegar and one 6oz. can tomato paste til paste is dissolved into mixure. Cool, serve room temp. or chilled with restaurant-style white corn tortilla chips.
