LOL...

what some people are reporting about tonights show....

about the song the winner has to sing....

Quote:
"As for the song they both have to sing, Cowell predicts, "I think it wil be harder for Blake to sing."

The reason? It's a ballad."

But are they actually singing the same song this year?

I don't know how much Justin Guarini knows, but he implies in this interview that they have different songs this year. Did Simon mean that both are ballads? Take this for what it's worth:

Quote:
EJ: Although, I have to say, I think Blake Lewis ought to count his blessings that he doesn’t have to adapt “A Moment Like This?to his style.
Justin: (loud laugh) Yeah, no, it was tough that first year. They were working out a lot of bugs. Ever since then they have not had the finalists sing the same exact songs because they realize that just isn’t the way to go. They have two very different artists. You can’t make them sing the same songs. But, it’s just, you know, they’ve worked out the bugs and we’re really expecting a great finale this year. I think it’s going to be thee closest in Idol history.

Edit: I heard this elsewhere, but just remembered when I was skimming that Justin interview. Beatles songs have been cleared for the finale, so Sir Paul may show up, or the Idols might just be singing some of those songs, or anything in between.

There's a rumor floating around that Britney Spears may show up at the finale......

According to an article (still looking for it), Britney was asked why she would even consider a duet with Sanjaya. Reporter presumely made the comment that Sanjaya can't sing.

Britney answered that if she can make K-Fed famous by just marrying him, she's sure Sanjaya will be a hit! ;)

I’m out of lurker mode to share some news. A tech friend of mine told me that Fox is kind of laughing about all the crazy calls they got from Katherine McPhee fans this week because she’s supposedly not goingto be on the show next week. The funny thing is, she will be ?and she’s singing a duet with Blake. The producers wanted to put last year’s runner-up with Blake, who they think stands good chance of being this year’s first runner-up. Blake and Katherine do this sort of this medley thing where Blake starts out singing part of one of his new songs (one of his own compositions, I think), then they segue into a song from Kathrine’s album (?). He says the song has a killer beat but kind of weird lyrics, and at the end, Katherine and Blake go AT it, with Blake laying down some serious beatboxing riffs.

From Sucks:
Blake - "You Give Love A Bad Name", "She Will Be Loved" and the winner's single

Jordin - "Broken Wing", "Fighter" (Christina Aguilera), and the winner's single.

From IDF:
My friend has given me some great spoilers for the finale.

Blake will be singing a duet with Doug E Fresh, he is virtually taken to beatboxing school!
Melinda will be singing "Hold Up the Light" with BeBe and CeCe and the vocal power is truly powerful and inspring.

Smokey Robinson is a guest and he joins the Top 6 guys on a contemporary rendition of "Oooh Baby Baby" and other Smokey songs with interesting fun choreography.

Gladys Knight will be joining the Top 6 girls on "Midnight Train to Georgia" and the girls sound outstanding, much better than they do on the show it was brilliant music making.

Joe Perry also joins the group for a Beatles medley which is awesome, never before done on Idol.

Simon told Jay Leno last night that this season is too close to call, that in his opinion it's never been this close. Blake is an entertainer and Jordin is a singer. He couldn't say which quality would take its contestant farther.

Tonight will mark the return of Chris Daughtry to American Idol. He and his band, DAUGHTRY, will be performing their hit single "Home" during the final two performance show.

I might see if McPhee has a good song coming out, but otherwise I'll just watch for Chris.
