I thought of the 2012 thing too, Tort (first thing that popped into my head actually, lol). I suppose as we move more towards eclipsing the center of our galaxy, anything is possible, since we don't know what to expect!

but, anyway, i know it's hip to think and be concerned about what we're doing to our planet, but, well, the global warming crowd is just wrong as the temperature flucuation in both directions is a reality found on all planets we can monitor, and we're the only ones with SUVs here, and we haven't got a greater fluctuation than the others, and so the event is a solar one----now, matters beyond our planet are what I'm concerned with since I view comets colliding with us far more dangerous than soccermoms in Escalades and people having more than one or two kids

Well, I do believe that the whole 'global warming' thing is absolutely part and parcel to the overall cycle of the earth's "life". I have no doubts about that. But I also think that we don't have any idea what, exactly, our own behavior (i.e., our 'waste') can and will do to make it worse (or better?) for us. We don't have records dating back that far, we don't know if the previous ice age was strictly an organic, natural part of earth's stages, or if perhaps the uber-advanced society of Atlanteans perhaps contributed to making it worse -- or even caused it completely.

or maybe it was the Lord or space aliens firing up a Porsche 993 Turbo, the last of the truly hardcore, air-cooled Porsches.  God look how wide it is, what a great ass really.  And that large fixed whale tale....my my my.  You know I've always thought that if UFOs are really space aliens of some high order and superior technology, that they'd probably still want a Porsche 911 Turbo even though their UFOs are so awesome.  Like for wherever it is they normally live when they're not punking humans (precluding the whole theory that they are among us), I'm sure they'd love to have a nice Porsche to zip around in.  Like, how rad would it be to finally find and contact other intelligent life in our universe only to find out that they have boosted some of our better gear, like hot cars. 

 

That'd be the ultimate selling point and ad any company could ever have.

god, I really want one.  I remember that I used to see Pete Sampras here and there in Tampa when he used to live here before he moved to CA, he had a 1997 911 Turbo S, black, and that was cool b/c I had friends who lived out in north Tampa where he lived (the Reserve at Tampa Palms).  Did I ever mention that I got my hair cut two chairs over from him in 1998 at a place called the Bostonian?  This is how we learned what car he had b/c I had parked next to that Porsche--I had a 97 Supra Turbo then--and he was almost done when I went in for my appointment, and so I watched him leave and that's what he hopped into

LOL, must be something about Porsches, that psychological thing. My mom used to have a 911 and that's the only car she ever had (and she's had MANY cars) that she didn't let me (or anyone else) drive, even around the block. Actually, I never even got to ride in it now that I think about it, lol.

I've got, in my garage, a beautiful Carrera 40 Jahre Edition (40 year, 40 fast years, anniv. model), which was in 2003 and was, is, a 2004 MY  (996 body for the porsche insiders), model-year.  Doesn't belong to me, but I've been in possession of it for about 3 months now (I allowed my friend to trade for my Defender90 for 6 months).  Never before was I a big Porsche guy, but after bombing around in this I am and I want that late 90s turbo (993). 

oh so yeah it is a Porsche thing---there is no substitute is right. which is why even space aliens would want one, despite what they can do outside the laws of physics

 

um, anyway, ok i have got to go and finish up my duties of the day since i'm blowing out early to go to some Gators freak's national title game party that actually started last night, lol.....it's actually semi-work-related since it's a trust-funder who does have business acumen, for the record, and some of whose money my company has managed, and is a part of our investment club, but who I also want to keep close for future ventures....anyway, should be some party, but as a Hurricane, I'm torn b/c I don't particularly hate the Gators but I don't want them nearing my alma mater's state ownership total of 5  national titles (UF has 2, and tonight they'll probably get their 3rd), but then Oklahoma is a team I do not like b/c they are like Ohio State in being benefactors in bad leagues who get shown great deference in BCS selections.....so i'll probably pull for the Gators....but anyway, i'm taking the Porsche tonight
