Josh Hartnett, why have you stooped so low?

Horror movies are as interesting as their villains. We go to them to see the unseen...monsters, creeps, creatures that lurk in darkness. In a word, these villain's ain't scaring anyone.

Set in Alaska, this film is based on a graphic novel and comic book series. I read the book, and it was marginal, the film is much worse.

The vampires are nasty, seemingly unevolved creatures that speak in grunts, groans and gibberish. It's subtitled so we know what they're saying. Yes, you read that right. Subtitled.
They invade a small Alaskan town,
The power is cut, telephone lines go down, dogs are savagely slaughtered, and the scene is set for the arrival of the undead. Their entrance is underwhelming.

Too much of it takes place in an attic. Can the residents fight off the nasties? By the time the third act rolls around and that question is finally poised, Who cares?

Ok, so when i first heard about the premise of this movie, I thought it was a great idea. What an awesome concept, Vampires who have 30 days of night to wreak their havoc. Well dont get too excited, this movie is a complete piece of crap. There is no plot whatsoever. They dont explain how the vampires got there, no stakes through the heart, no garlic or holy water. These vampires are basically just the zombies from 28 Days Later mixed with the raptors from Jurassic Park. The film was edited horribly. I found myself thinking "wasn't he just being chased by a vampire? and now he's safe in a building?" This film drags from the very beginning. The only thing that got me through it was hope that there would be some type of payoff in the end (Which there isn't). I also have to say that Josh Hartnett is probably one of the worst actors ever. He whispers his lines with no emotions. I could go on for hours about how bad this film was and how disappointed I am. Basically if you like mindless action and dont care about plot or story... then this is a good film for you. If you actually have a brain...sit this one out.

Absolutely the worst move i've seen in years. No story. At all. Where do the vampires come from, no one says or knows and never will. Where did they go. Why is the ending so cliche? Its just horrible, it sets up rules, that it doesnt follow itself. I wouldn't waste any money to see it. It's like a two hour build up just to give you blueballs.

OMG I kept saying the same exact thing.  They just appeared - no explanation whatsoever.  Don't even get me started about the subtitles.  I totally agree with every last thing the reviewer said.  Completely.

Craptastical piece of crap.
