CHICAGO (WLS) -- The mother and brother of singer and Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson were found shot to death inside a home Friday.

Police have confirmed Hudson's mother, Darnell Hudson Donerson, 57, is one of the deceased. The other victim has been identified as Jennifer Hudson's brother, Jason S. Hudson, 29.

The home where the bodies were discovered aruond 3 p.m. Friday is at 7019 S. Yale in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood. Property records indicate the home belongs to Donerson.

A search is under way for a young boy who is missing from the home. A child, possibly Jennifer Hudson's 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, is missing, according to sources. Police are searching for an SUV that was seen in the area - a 1994 white Suburban, Illinois license plate number X584859.

I hope if this guy they caught is the killer, that for taken the life of this little boy. I pray to God they fry his ass. No Drugs to numb him, just hook him up and pull the lever.
A eye for a eye, he doesn't deserve to live.

FBI says body found is that of Hudson's nephew, 7

CHICAGO - A top FBI official said Monday that a body found in an SUV is believed to be that of Jennifer Hudson's missing 7-year-old nephew, the focus of a desperate search since the Oscar winner's mother and brother were found shot to death in their home three days earlier.

While the body has not been positively identified, FBI Deputy Director John S. Pistole said authorities believe it to be that of Julian King, who also lived in the home.

Chicago police said the body of a black male child was found shortly after 7 a.m. in the rear seat of an SUV. An autopsy was planned for Tuesday.

The SUV was found parked on the street in a neighborhood of brownstone homes and apartment buildings, and matched the one sought in an Amber Alert issued after Hudson's mother and brother were found slain Friday, police Cmdr. Wayne Gulliford said.

In Washington, Pistole said at a news conference on child exploitation that authorities found a body "who we believe to be the missing victim in Chicago, the nephew of Jennifer Hudson. We are working with Chicago police to get a positive identification of the victim."

Hudson had offered $100,000 Sunday for information leading to Julian's safe return. He is the son of Jennifer Hudson's sister, Julia Hudson. Telephone and e-mail messages left Monday for Hudson's publicist, who had been releasing statements on behalf of the family, were not answered.

Chicago police have characterized the killings as "domestic related" and have been questioning William Balfour, who is the estranged husband of Julia Hudson and is being held in state custody on a parole violation. Balfour is not the boy's father and has not been charged in the slayings.

Balfour, 27, was taken into custody Friday by Chicago police for questioning in the killings. On Sunday, he was transferred to the Illinois Department of Corrections "based on his active parole violation unrelated to this investigation."

Records from the Corrections Department show Balfour is on parole and spent nearly seven years in prison for attempted murder, vehicular hijacking and possessing a stolen vehicle.

Balfour's mother, Michele Balfour, has said Hudson's mother kicked Balfour out of the family home last winter. She denied her son had anything to do with the killings.

Corrections spokeswoman Januari Smith said Balfour would probably remain in state custody until the Illinois Prisoner Review Board looked at his case. She would not say where Balfour was being held, and it was unclear whether Balfour had an attorney.

Hudson, who won an Academy Award in 2007 for her role in "Dreamgirls," was in Chicago during the weekend. The medical examiner's office confirmed Hudson, 27, identified the bodies of her mother, Darnell Donerson, 57, and 29-year-old brother, Jason Hudson. The deaths were ruled homicides.

Neighbors and well-wishers brought stuffed animals and other items to a makeshift memorial outside Donerson's two-story white clapboard home as news of Monday's discovery spread.

"Everybody knows Jennifer Hudson, but I would be here even if it was little Suzy on the corner," said Tacara Juarez, 26, who doesn't know the family but lives in the neighborhood.

On Sunday, Hudson appealed to the public for help, offering the reward and asking any information be given to Chicago police.

"Jennifer and her family appreciate the enormous amount of love, support and prayers they have received while she and her family try to cope with this tragedy and continue the search for Julian," said a statement from her publicist.

I totally agree Fins, to kill a little kid is the ultimate worse.  You hear about crimes of passion where, in a split second, a family member just loses it and shoots another adult.  But because this little boy was in the car, this bottom feeding scumbag had time to think about what his actions were.  An innocent who didn't have the ability to defend himself against this monster, how tragic.  The dead are in heaven, but the remaining family has to suffer for the rest of their lives.  I would have no problem pulling the lever myself.

The story just keeps getting worse.

They have still not charged Julia's estranged husband, but I imagine that the boy must have been unexpectedly at home when something went down. 9am on a Friday, he should have been in school.

How tragic that people heard gunshots but did nothing, the boy was probably still alive at that point, and who knows if the other two could have been saved with quick action. The shocking reality of what life is like in one of the U.S. most crime-ridden areas, either everyone wanted to stay out of it, or they were too used to the cops not showing up for 'shots fired' so didn't bother to report it.

People in that neighborhood actually said to the press, "Oh we heard gunshots, but we always hear gunshots in this neighborhood so we didn't think anything of it."

The vehicle was found 2 miles away and it took 3 days to find it? And it was found by someone out walking his dog?   I would think that with an Amber Alert officers would be cruising every single block all over the city.  Not that it would have mattered in this case, but why the hell have Amber Alerts if it is going to take three days to find something parked two miles away?

That's assuming it was there for the whole 3 days... There is some speculation that the vehicle wasn't there earlier on but was moved there later... If that's the case, it would help exonerate the brother-in-law, who has been in custody since Friday evening...

Jennifer Hudson Kisses Her Mother Goodbye at Funeral

Originally posted Monday November 03, 2008 06:50 PM EST

Jennifer Hudson kissed her mother goodbye during a heartfelt private service for her slain family members in Chicago on Monday.

The Oscar-winning actress spent a few moments at the caskets of her brother and nephew, and gently touched the body of her mother before leaning down to kiss her, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Toward the end of the service, American Idol's season 3 winner Fantasia Barrino sang a rousing rendition of the gospel classic "Your Grace and Mercy." During the song, she walked into the aisle where she took Hudson's hand and sang directly to her.

The Reverend Jesse Jackson and Chicago Mayor Richard Daley both spoke at the service. After the funeral, a horse-drawn carriage led the procession to the cemetery.

The private service comes a day after a public service was held for Darnell Donerson, 57, Jason Hudson, 29, and Julian King, 7, at the Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist Church near their Chicago home.

Police discovered the bodies of Hudson's mother and brother on Oct. 24, and her nephew's three days later.

Though no one has been charged, police have classified Jennifer's brother-in-law, William Balfour, as "a person of interest."

The Hudson family members will be buried at Oak Woods Cemetery on the South Side of Chicago.
