Project Runway is almost over for the season, I know. So I'm a little late in posting this. But I can't believe how much I love this show. Tomorrow's fashion week and we'll see all the designers show.
Out of the four left, I think I want Laura to win. Or Michael. Or even Uli. Just not Jeff........he may be talented, but he's just too obnoxious and sneaky and I don't like him at all.
I can find fault with everyone, but as far as taste and performance goes, Laura should win. I know she can get matronly, but Uli designs the same dress over and over, with variations in color and maybe neckline, but she doesn't seem to know a woman has a waist.  Michael's very creative, and has a good eye for the woman's shape, but he needs more time to develope. And Jeffrey......did his last dress (romantic) not look just like the paper dress he made? Except for the hem? And did the yellow plaid dress on display in the Paris fabric store not give him the idea for a yellow plaid dress? Is he not the sneakiest (next to Keith) egomaniac on the show?
I've been lurking the runway webpages. And now I want to know if this new reality show addiction I've gotten will lead to therapy?
Gigi

I HATE Jeffrey, and I think that nearly all of his clothes are ugly as hell. I don't know why the judges say nice things about him!

I've been addicted to this show since Season 1, when I accidentally happened upon the first episode.  I was hooked immediately.  Project Runway has been quietly becoming my favorite TV show!

I still don't know who I want to win because I want to see their collections next week.  I've seen the photos of their collections and I was disappointed in Michael's.  I can't imagine him winning with that collection.  I wish someone who designed for the older woman would win, which would mean Laura, although her collection is boring (at least from what I've seen).

From the photos I've seen on the internet, Uli and Jeffrey actually have the nicest collections.  I wouldn't be surprised if Uli won.  At any rate, this is the first season where all 4 of the finalists were my favorites, so I actually don't care which of them wins.

Okay, talk about your drama! Will Jeff be kicked off? Will there just be three at the fashion show? I'm reading the PR website stuff, and a lot of people are blaming Laura for accusing Jeff of cheating. But Michael agreed with her. And he seems like the nicest of them all. I think Laura comes off as a rich b (all that space in her NY apt? And 5 kids, almost 6? They must do well.) Still, I love her designs and much prefer the classy elegance. As for Jeff, I kinda believe he would have help in sewing....he does have a company already, and presumedly, people working for him. Still.....I just don't like him, his nastiness, his neck tatoo, his rudeness, and I don't get that he's that original with his designs. So I could be biased against him. He does seem to really love his baby and girlfriend, so he can't be all bad.
But, anyway, on the website, there are some videos and one is of Carson mentioning the three people at the show, and one is of the designers before the show and Jeff isn't on it. So we'll see. Uli may pull off the win, if her show has new styles. She's really sweet. But I still want Laura to win, at this point. It could change when they show their lines.

Gigi -- I guess I have mixed feelings about how Laura went about revealing Jeffrey's alleged "cheating."  I would think that, if he did cheat, the receipts would tell the tale?  So she could have let the receipts speak for themselves.  I don't know ... it's not an easy call because everyone does need to be on a level playing field and if he had extra help to finish off his collection, then he didn't follow the rules.  It's just that sometimes I find Laura petty, so something about the way she went about exposing Jeffrey just didn't sit right with me.  I hope Jeffrey doesn't get eliminated.  It would be such a shame to get that far and then be eliminated.  On the other hand, he's already an establish designer with the rock crowd.  And he's quite talented in that area.  I've never been a big fan either ... I do believe he has talent, but, as you said, it's him -- the whole package -- that's a bit off-putting.  I will say ... his little boy is just adorable, but the wife with the mohawk?, oy vey.

And, by the way, did you notice how successful all 4 designers were?  In years past, when Tim Gunn would go and visit the finalists, they didn't seem so well off.  This season, 3 of the finalists had their own homes and one lived in a monstrous Manhattan loft.  And I also think this is the first time when the finalists all come from major U.S. cities.  We've got Miami, Atlanta, New York and Los Angeles represented in the finals.  Pretty cool.

I live in Manhattan (in a small studio) so you can imagine that my eyes bulged when I saw Laura's apartment/loft.  I've known quite a few rich New Yorkers and that apartment was, whoa, what can I say? ... quite amazing.  Did you notice that the elevator went straight into her apartment?  That's wealth baby, wealth.....

I don't know HOW receipts would indicate whether he sewed the garments himself or had somebody else do it for him (assuming that he didn't pay or didn't turn in the receipt). If there is NO receipt for outside sewing services, it could mean EITHER of the following...

1. Jeffrey sewed all the garments himself. Because he did all the work himself, there would be no receipt. THIS WOULD NOT BE CHEATING.

2. He got somebody else to do a lot of his sewing, but he either didn't pay them for their services or didn't take the money from the $8,000 provided and didn't turn in a receipt... THIS WOULD BE CHEATING

Unfortunately, the "evidence" really doesn't show which scenario it is...

I hear ya ...

In which case ... I don't know HOW they're going to prove anything unless he just out and out tells them!  However, he did mention that he was barely averaging 3 hours a night of sleep, so it is possible that he did all his own sewing.  (ahhh, but it is probable?  LOL)

I do enjoy a mystery.....tension.....did he or didn't he? Will he or won't he? I don't know how they'll prove it, either. One message on the blog thingy, which I don't even know if it's true or if the poster knows, but they said something about Laura and Jeff's Mom's getting close on the 'everyday woman' show, and Jeff's Mom said something to Laura's Mom (by phone) concerned that he didn't have much done yet, and didn't know how he'ld finish in time. Okay, that's just gossip, I guess. But plausible. So Laura checked out Jeff's work, and when he didn't have anything, not even a hook, left to do in NY, she mentioned it to Michael and Uli and then to Tim. Michael agreed with her, btw, and Uli checked some of the clothes and said they weren't perfect, so maybe she doesn't have a problem.
On the other hand, being suspicious of reality tv, I wouldn't be surprised if this was all for ratings.......that it was planned and that's why they chose four instead of the usual three to go Fashion week.
That's not to say I don't enjoy the drama. I'm hooked.
Diane, that's what I meant about Laura being well off if her space in NY was that big.......OMG. I don't know prices in NY first hand, but I've heard that most people could retire on what they charge for a one bedroom. Much exaggeration there? lol.

Gigi -- Maybe not too much exaggeration there!  LOL -- To buy a one bedroom can be extremely expensive here.  I certainly don't have the money.  I didn't start seriously saving for retirement until I was 49 years old.  I'm 56 now and I'll probably be working until I drop.

Laura's apartment would easily sell for millions.  Maybe when she and her husband bought it, it might have been a bargain.

P.S. -- I also think most of what they do is for ratings and I'm eatin' it all up, haha, just like you!!  Love This Show.

Okay, I'm gearing up for the new season. I read that Tim  may not be there........I'll die. I really like him. He has such class. Does anyone know?
