My son was talking to me about his day yesterday.  He said, "Zane lost his smiley."

Okay to explain, when someone loses their smiley they got in trouble.  Everyone starts the day with a smiley.  If they misbehave they have to lose their smiley.  They can earn their smiley back but it they don't then they don't get their reward dollar.  At the end of the week they spend their reward dollars on different toys.  The more dollars, the better the toy.

Anyway he continued to tell me everyone in the class who had a smiley but Zane, Zane didn't have a smiley.  So I asked my son, "Why did Zane lose his smiley?"

He said, "He broke the ground."

I'm thinking everyway that could mean something but I can't figure it out.  Then I suggest other words instead of ground, like crayon, something brown, a crown... just anything I could think of.  "No Zane broke the ground."

Okaaaay Zane broke the ground.

So I talked to his teacher this morning.  She says, "Zane lost his smiley because he threw a fit.  He threw himself to the ground and he was kicking and hitting the ground.

So in my son's mind, he got in trouble for breaking the ground.  Hahahahahaha

It cracked me up.  I thought it was so funny.
