The scene opens in the office of Raw General Manager Trish Stratus. As the camera pans around the room we can see that the room is indeed empty. A large crystal vase filled with a dozen of red roses with a card sticking out from the top is sitting on the middle of Trish’s desk where she can’t help but see it. Moments later the door opens and Trish makes her way inside accompanied by her assistant and business manager Karen. Trish is dressed rather casually in a pair of faded blue jeans and a Legion of Havok T-Shirt with her long blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail. No sooner had she stepped inside the room her eyes caught sight of the vase of roses on her desk. She let out a gasp as she quickly made her way across the room towards them. She grabbed the card from the cardholder as she plopped down in her chair. Her eyes darted across the card carefully studying each word. A wide smile spread across her face as she leaned back against her chair holding the card against her chest. Karen made her way over to the desk taking a seat in the chair directly across from her. Karen: Judging by that smile on your face, I take it the roses are from someone that you actually like. Trish Stratus: That was a brilliant piece of deduction on your part. They’re from Deacon of course, wishing me luck in my title match against Brock Johnson Tuesday night. Isn’t that sweet? Karen: It’s sweet. Trish raised an eyebrow in curiosity as she looked up at Karen. She knew that Karen was genuinely happy for her but the tone of her voice sounded a bit distant. Trish Stratus: What’s that supposed to mean, you don’t think its sweet? Karen: Of course I do. It’s just that you have a match coming up in a couple of days with your title on the line which you? Trish Stratus: Don’t tell me you think that I should actually think that this guy deserves even an iota of my attention? Karen: Well the guy does have somewhat of an impressive record and besides you can’t hold it against him that Kirsten Jane decided to walk out without a word. Trish Stratus: As much as I hate to say it, you’re right I can’t hold it against him. Karen: Now that wasn’t so hard to admit now was it? Trish Stratus: I didn’t say it wasn’t. But just because it wasn’t his problem that Kirsten ran away with her tail between her legs and he got the win handed to him doesn’t mean that I should give him even the tiniest shred of attention. Have you sat down and actually watched some of his matches? The guy is one step above being Chris Orton’s twin brother. Karen: He may not be the best but you can’t go into this taking him lightly or it could cost you your title and as hard as you fought to get that I’d hate to see you lose it so easily. Trish Stratus: This is Brock Johnson we’re talking about here. The guy’s one and only purpose in this company is to get in my former sister in law’s pants and create some kid of their own. Karen: And you don’t think that he’s going to be out to please her by taking you out for what you did to Chris? Trish Stratus: (She rolls her eyes) If that’s how she gets her rocks off that’s not my problem. I put up with Chris’s crap long enough before growing tired of being alone all the time. If Britney can’t accept that and needs to send her so called man in there to do her dirty work for her I’ll be more than happy to send another member of her family packing. Karen: And to think that you two were such good friends. (Karen shakes her head) Look I know you don’t think that Brock is worth even the slightest bit of your energy but you’ve got to give him some thought. Trish Stratus: What do I look like?Chris Orton? My god Karen, I may be blonde but I’m far from stupid. The guy may not be the best talent this company employs but if I don’t go in there with at least an idea of how I’m going to humiliate him I’m going to look completely stupid and I can’t have that. Karen: Always the thinker, aren’t you? Trish Stratus: My Karen, I believe that was the nicest thing you’ve said to me in some time. Karen: I’m glad you enjoyed it. Seriously though, what are your plans for Tuesday night. Trish Stratus: Well I thought it would go something like this. I would go down to the ring, beat him from end of the ring to the other than when those few minutes are over I’d stand over his unconscious body with my hand raised in victory. Sounds like a good plan don’t you think? Karen: It’s just lovely. Now if it was guaranteed to be that easy your night would be set. The only way that it would be that easy is if Brock doesn’t even bother to show and as badly as he said he wanted the shot at you I highly doubt he’s going to miss the opportunity. Trish Stratus: You’re giving him way to much credit Karen, that’s your problem. Brock hasn’t done a damn thing since he had the win handed to him and that was before the Royal Rumble. That doesn’t exactly prove the desire to get a shot at the Intercontinental Title now does it? (Karen shakes her head) I knew you’d see my point. And if the off chance arises that he actually does have the guts to show up then well I’ve already told you what my plan was. Karen: (She laughs) Oh yes it was just so detailed. Trish Stratus: It was, wasn’t it? I don’t know maybe I’ll change it up a little for my own amusement and make him believe that he actually has a shot against me before I rip his dreams of being something around here away from him. What do you think? Karen: I don’t know about you. Don’t you take anyone seriously? Trish Stratus: A real opponent yes, but Brock Johnson…you’ve got to be kidding. Crystal could beat him. This is going to be just like my win over Britney. A piece of cake. No sooner had the words came out of her mouth Trish burst into laughter. Karen looked at her and shook her head. Trish gave her a wink as the scene faded to black. |
