The scene opens again a few minutes later with Serenity still on her way for her interview with Maria. Better known as the ditz to anyone reading this, but that’s another story for a different matter all together. To say that Serenity was looking was looking forward to this was nothing but a boldface lie. The truth of the matter was she hated it. The only reason she even agreed was to get it over with. You see she knew how things worked around there. If she said no then within minutes Maria would appear in her locker room giving her that blank expression of hers and pestering her to no end until she finally consented and gave the interview. This way she was saving herself at least a couple hours of a headache. God how that irritated Serenity…that and her voice. Like pins and needles to the ears. All she wanted to do was sit in her locker room with AC waiting on some sign that Jamie was going to show up. The further time passed it wasn’t looking very promising which wasn’t leaving Serenity in a very good mood. And poor Maria was going to be on the receiving end of it. Tough break for her, now wasn’t it? Not that Serenity cared who was on the receiving end of the bad mood she was working on. In fact anyone who was within eye range would do just fine. It just happened that Maria was the lucky person for the day. Serenity made her way around the corner with an annoyed expression on her face. As she made her way around the corner she saw Maria standing a few feet away chatting rather happily with the cameraman. If she was lucky Maria would be engrossed in her conversation and not even notice Serenity was there. No such luck unfortunately. Out of the corner of her eye Maria saw Serenity slowly walking towards her. She flashed her one of the widest grins Serenity had ever seen, which made her stomach turn. It was too late to turn back now unfortunately. Serenity let out a groan as she begrudgingly made her way to the makeshift area that had been set up for interviews. It was nice but nothing overly special. As she took her place beside the ever vacant Maria, Maria turned to face Serenity batting her eyelashes as she starts to speak. Maria Kanellis: Oh my god Serenity…like how are you? I am so glad that you said yes to doing this interview. Everyone else I asked said no. Serenity Chambers: Gee, I wonder why. Maria Kanellis: Me too. (She pouts) It’s just rude, you know? Serenity Chambers: Yea sure Maria. Look I really don’t have all day to sit here and continue on with this little conversation with you but I have more important things to do so if you don’t mind get on with this interview already. Maria Kanellis: Oh sure Serenity. She motions for the cameraman to get ready. A few moments pass and finally he gives her the signal that he’s ready. Maria raises her mic up to her lips and starts to speak. Maria Kanellis: Hey everyone! It’s Maria and I’m standing here with Serenity Chambers Steel, will be teaming with Jamie Austin to take on Drake Striker and Matt Steel. (She turns towards Serenity) Matt is your brother in law, don’t you feel weird about facing him? Serenity Chambers: Wow that has to be the single dumbest question I have ever been asked before. (Maria bats her eyes) Why would it be weird? Because we’re related? You really need to go back to Oz and have the wizard put your brain back in cause you’re in desperate need of it. Maria Kanellis: Oh no, I have one. Serenity Chambers: Yes sure and fish ride bicycles. Maria Kanellis: I’m pretty sure they don’t Serenity. Serenity Chambers: That’s the point Maria. Maria Kanellis: (she laughs) Oh, I get it. Serenity Chambers: Somehow I highly doubt it but never mind, ask you next mind numbing question. Maria Kanellis: Well Matt has some pretty nice things to say about you. He said you were one of the most talented divas in the company, isn’t that sweet? Serenity Chambers: First off Maria, you truly are an idiot. Second of what does that have to do with anything? Sure its very nice of him to think so highly of me but I don’t see what it has to do with this match. Maria Kanellis: Well are you going to be easier to him knowing he thinks you’re good? Serenity Chambers: No, I’m not going to be easier on him regardless how nice of things he says about me. Not that he would want me to either. This is business pure and simple. I want to win this tournament as badly as Matt does and I’m not about to let a few kind words from someone I’m already close to cost me my chance to become the number one contender for the tag team titles. But I do appreciate very much what Matt had to say. Maria Kanellis: Neither Jamie or Drake have shown up yet, why do you suppose that is? Serenity Chambers: Well if I had to make an educated guess I’d say both of them are busy with something else Maria Kanellis: Such as? Serenity Chambers: Do I look like some fortune teller? (Maria shakes her head) Of course not. To answer your question I haven’t the slightest clue where either of them are or what they’re doing. All I know is right now this match is between Matt and myself to decide who advances into the third round of the tag team tournament for our teams. Whether Jamie and Drake show up is something to be seen but I highly doubt it. Now if you don’t mind I have much more important things to do than stand here and listen to you ramble on so this interview is now over. Before Maria can so much as utter out a single syllable Serenity turns around almost smacking Maria in the face with her long blonde hair. She lets out a small snicker as she heads back down the hall in the direction of the locker rooms as the scene fades to black. |
