As a bit of fun, shall we keep a running count of the amount of different footballing competitions we watch during the season ie. you will have seen games so far in the SPL and of course the Glens League Cup matches, whilst I have seen one League Two match (Wycombe vs Wrexham) so far.  Given the amount of competitions and tournaments the Glens enter and with UEFA Cup, Scottish FA and League cups I will have to go some to beta you through the season I suspect but I am confident .

Tonight I am making a 150 mile round trip to watch Reading reserves take on Cheltenham in the final of that hugely significant competition, the Pontins Holiday Combination - as Eastern division winners we will take on the Western division champions for the overall title tonight.  How very exciting.  Yes, I am well aware that I need to get a life .

Overall score so far Nessie 2-2 HMHB....unless you can lay claim to another competition which I have overlooked and I am quite sure you will put me straight .

Another point for me as Maidenhead United's fine start in the Blue Square South continued with a 1-0 victory over St Albans City.  4 wins and 1 draw for the Magpies from their 5 games this season.

Brings it back to 5-4 Nessie.  I have magnaminously allowed you a full point for your attendance at the Hamish & Mouse Centenary Cup

5-5 now.  Maidenhead United 1-2 Havant & Waterlooville in the Setanta Shield.  Unbeaten in the league, we have bigger fish to fry

I almost forgot !

7-5 to me now, after my attendance at Rutherglen Glencairn v Lochore Welfare last Saturday in the Citylink Scottish Junior Cup 1st Round.

I knocked back a freebie to Celtic v Aalborg in the Champions League a couple of weeks ago or that would have been another point.

That's a very good point, actually. I feel even better about knocking it back now, I always knew it was the right decision.

Ah, the joys of working overtime and leaving work 20 minutes before kick off to be int he ground in plenty of time to have a coffee before kick off.  Tonight is Maidenhead United vs Burnham, a local derby.  Although to be fair you tend to get plenty of those in the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup .  7-7

Damn and blast, Mutley !

I had intended attending Prestatyn Town v The New Saints in the Welsh Premier League last night, but completely forgot it was on in the hysteria of my daughter winning the fancy dress competition at Haven, and the bingo as well ! By the time I remembered it was halfway through the 2nd half.

I equalise straight away with Aldershot Town vs Port Vale in the Coca-Cola League Two last night.  A drab game played in a snowstorm enlivened only by a winning goal from former Reading youngster Louie Soares.  8-8.

Belatedly claiming a point for 10-8.  I did, after all, pay for my ticket and attended Cardiff City vs Reading in the FA Cup .
