Sitting in the house on Saturday evening watching The X Factor, I could hear the rain hammering down outside. I looked out of the window and it was hailstones going sideways in the driving wind.

"Right, that's it," I thought. "Time for action." Out came the laptop, online I went, and straight to the Virgin Atlantic website. A short time later we were booked on the 12.45pm flight from London Gatwick to Orlando International on 26th June 2009 for a nice wee fortnight in Mickey's back yard.

Suddenly the appalling weather outside was of very little significance.

We'll be there for Independance Day, a wee trip to one of the Disney parks is called for that day I think.

And, when I come home, the pre-season friendlies will just be starting.

Anyone else got anything booked or planned yet ?

Hey, shamybhoy, we'll be there at the same time then ! The traditional "count the Old Firm jersey" game has just taken on a new dimension.

What dates do you travel ? Where are you staying ? Maybe we could meet up for wee drink or two in the Fox & Hounds ?

Oh, and being a family guy and a non-drinker, I spend Saturday evening in the house fairly regularly, to be honest. I also have deadlines to meet with my reports for the local paper and also the printer for the Glens programmes, which all have to be done before midnight on a Sunday. As I'm rarely in the house between 10am and 8pm on a Sunday, I like to get my stuff done on a Saturday night if possible.

We're there till the 10th July, so we may be able to meet up at some point.

The Fox & Hounds sounds like a plan to me.

Only on matchdays, it's just a regular pub the rest of the time, run by an English family. There are Rangers pictures and memorabilia on the walls, but the fans really only gather there when a match is on, and there won't be any showing there between 3rd and 10th July.

Having seen your posts today, shambloke, I think I'll do my best to avoid you in Florida.
