Very Weak teams put by England and Germany, i don't know if Germany have an injury crisis too but they were pretty weak. Allbeit not so weak that Hinkel could get a game :P

I'm also getting sick of not knowing who the players are starting for Ireland :P

scotland werre well out thier depth game was a bit dull as well did we have a decent shot on goal? when the argies had to in the first 10 mins they put us to the sword then coasted the rest of the game.

was a game for the fans as the commentary team said but a lot never turned up.

I think the attendance summed up the apathy towards the Scottish national side at the moment. The starting line-up included seven Old Firm players and one ex-Old Firm player, and we were playing the no.6 ranked team in the world. But only 32,492 turned up. Had it been Rangers v Hamilton Accies or Celtic v St Mirren, there would have been a considerably larger crowd.

I live 5 minutes away from Hampden by car, but I never even once considered going to the game, to be honest.

I hope you all enjoyed the nauseating Maradona love-in .  Well done England, excellent performance.

All Tims - did you watch the Ireland game?  I turned over to watch the last 5-10 minutes and it all happened, three goals.

no, i was studying. Xmas exams coning up. Find it awful hard to watch Ireland play anymore. They were very boring to watch i the Kerr/Staunton years and when you don't know half the starting team, it's hard enough to watch

It certainly isn't a vintage Ireland team is it, not a patch on the Charlton sides of the late eighties/early nineties.  I can understand that you're not familiar with half the players as they don't ply their trade in the SPL or the Premiership.

I have a vague interest in the progress of the Reading players involved; in the ten minutes I saw last night, Shane Long - who isn't good enough to start games for us. never mind being a regular international squad player  - won a penalty with his usual strength and never-say-die attitude, and the penalty was converted by Stephen Hunt as he has consistently done for Reading this season (3 of his 6 league goals this term being penalties).  Kevin Doyle started the game, with Noel Hunt - who has been outstanding value for his £650,000 fee from Dundee United - made his Eire debut as a sub.
Brothers in arms: Hunt and Hunt in familiar goal-celebrating pose .

I don't think Shane Long does enough but with Keane injured i don't know they could put trust in. Noel Hunt definately has done enough to warrant a run out. Kevin Doyle has been doing good from what i've seen of him and Stephen Hunt can be one of Ireland key performers at times
