He was said to have got some battering in a Glasgow Nightclub.
Second Member of Celtic first team staff this season to have been beaten up out on the town.
Do you think it's the roughness in general or Glasgow city centre at night or is it something else, maybe the fact that the two are hate figures in eyes of rangers fans?
Do you think they shouldn't be allowed out on the town?
I was thinking of going out to a club or two but with an Irish accent on a matchday weekend, should i? it definately thinks twice, especially because i'll have mates with me who wouldn't know much of the divide or the sectarian element in Glasgow.

Your Thoughts?

Eh, where has it been confirmed or even reported that whoever beat up McGeady was a Rangers fan ?

.....Am I naive in thinking that an Irish accent would if anything be more welcome in Glasgow city centre than an english one?.....

No, you're not naiive.

It has been reported as an unprovoked sectarian attack in the centre of Glasgow, there's little chance of it not being a Rangers fan

Where has it been reported as such, Alltims ? That's not the reports I've heard today. It was reported on RC Radio this morning as a night-club brawl, no mention of anything sectarian, and it wasn't even reported on the BBC Scottish news.

You really have no concept of the attitude of the majority of the Scottish public to McGeady, outside of the Celtic support, do you ?

We note also that Alltims starts his 2nd thread in 6 months, and yet again it's a dig at the big bad bigoted Rangers fans.

And yet again he has not a shred of evidence to back it up.

Oh dear, oh dear, Alltims.

Celtic ace Aiden McGeady was subjected to sectarian abuse and attacked in a nightclub on Wednesday morning.

According to a report in the Irish Sun, the winger was punched twice in the face in an unprovoked attack.

He was reportedly set upon by three individuals in Glasgow's Karbon nightclub in the early hours of Wednesday, but did not report the incident to police.

Furthermore, Celtic have declined to comment on the matter, though a 'friend' of the Irish international said that McGeady had been "attacked without provocation.

"He's pretty distressed and upset. There were about three of them and they started dishing out some abuse - it was pretty heavy stuff."

.....According to a report in the Irish Sun.......

Enough said.

By the way, there's no mention of anything to do with Rangers supporters in that report.

Word on the street is that McGeady was not entirely innocent as you would like to believe. But I have no proof, so I'll refrain from making a fool of myself the way you like to do.

Aw well, he was in Karbon, that explains it.  Karbon is the stomping ground of every poser in Glasgow, and folk who think they're something.  It's not surprising he got a beat down in there, he was probably trying to outpose someone, and they didn't take too kindly to it.  If you're well known and you go there, you're bound to take some amount of abuse. And it's not exactly the kind of place you go if you want a quiet night out and want to blend into the background.

nobody will be arrested because apparently he will not be pressing charges. That usually says it all to be honest.

Anyway, why would an Irish guy be in danger in Glasgow because the little traitor got attacked? He isn't Irish! If he was attacked for the reason you suggest then it was because he's Scottish! Am I missing something here?

Ssshhh guys, you'll upset Alltims. The truth doesn't sit well with his insane desire to have cheap digs at the Rangers support without any foundation.

I've had friends who were attacked and didn't press charges. I guess they felt a bit humiliated or embarassed.

From what i've seen (notably on comments of youtube vids). I'm only a tattie picking inbred

Don't try to put words into our mouths, Alltims.

You're capable of better than that.
