St Mirren v Celtic - 12.30pm

Much has been made of Celtic's injury list and they now have Robson and Hartley added to it after the midweek internationals, so Celtic will be pleased to have such an easy fixture this weekend. I can't see anything other than an away win in this game, they will still be too strong for St Mirren, and if they need a wee bit of help along the way then they always have their now traditional dodgy decision to fall back on.

Celtic will not be troubled defensively as they will have their strongest defence available and St Mirren will adopt the same tactics as they did when they beat Rangers (i.e. one attempt on goal).

The midfield will be interesting though, with Robson, Donati and Hartley out and Nakamura struggling. Still, they've got Brown9.

Celtic will unquestionably score at least twice and win this one early in the match.

Rangers v Aberdeen - 3pm

With Celtic certain to be seven points ahead before kick-off at Ibrox, this has the potential to be another banana skin for Rangers. And with Kenny Miller confirmed as injured for this one, and Madjid Bougherra and Sasa Papac struggling, then it will be a make-shift team again.

I shudder to think what might happen if Walter persists with Lee McCulloch ahead of Christian Dailly at centre-half if Bougherra doesn't make it, we looked shaky enough last week against St Mirren, and Aberdeen have better strikers.

Three of the four midfield places pick themselves (Davis, Ferguson, Mendes) but the great left-sided conundrum is still to be solved with Charlie Adam the latest player to flop badly in the position last Saturday. Aaron Niguez Escaplez anyone ? Surely he's worth a try, he couldn't be any worse than the others.

Up front it has to be Boyd and Novo for me, but no doubt Walter will pick Darcheville, and no doubt he'll be totally hopeless again.

Still, we should still have enough in the locker to win this one, the game's at Ibrox after all, and we should be confident against anyone at Ibrox with our record there over the last year and a bit.

Your thoughts ?

We'll never know if Celtic would have struggled in this game had the referee sent Boruc off at 0-0, but not sending him off certainly did Celtic another huge favour. In the end it was the easy win I said it would be.

Lee McCulloch was my MOTM, Thought he strolled through the game winning most headers and forcing players wide and only made one stray pass.

Lee McCulloch played well, but I wouldn't go as far as to say he was Man of the Match. We didn't look as dominant in the air defensively as we normally do. I hope Bougherra is fit for Tynecastle next Saturday.

Ness do you take notes during the game or is your match reports done from memory?

The Rangers games are done from memory. I occasionally take notes during the Glencairn games because I'm doing it for the papers (when it gets to 6-5 I have to write it down !) but not always, sometimes just from memory again.

Why do you ask ?

It`s just that i can remember most of the match but to go in to the detail you do is beyond me! Maybe it`s the fact i have a six year old asking me why the referee is cheating every 2 mins and expecting me to give a detailed answer.

Just read them there, very good indeed, the website looks very good as well. Beaten by Thorniwood Ness, the players should hang their heads in shame.A few of my old team mates ply their trade with them.

That's our only league defeat so far, and Thorniewood are top of the league, mate. They've also only had one defeat in their eight league games so far, and have won six of them, and they're the top scorers in the division. They're a decent outfit.

Having said that, if we win our two games in hand we go back to the top. We're playing Johnstone Burgh on Saturday, that's one of the games in hand as most of the league are on Scottish Junior Cup duty.

Thorniwood have come on leaps and bound in the last year considering the only experience Jonny and Paul had was running under 12 teams.
