Dundee United v Rangers - 12.30pm

This is a real tester for Rangers. It's a ground that's not been kind to us in recent years, one win in eight matches over five years. Celtic will hoping we slip up, I dare say possibly expecting us to slip up.

It's all down to Walter again. I don't want to hear any post-match interviews which contain the words "we started slowly". Get them up for it, Walter. You know what to expect, we know what to expect, make sure the players know what to expect.

If Walter picks the team he picked last Saturday we will have a great chance of winning the game. The only change I would possibly make is dropping McGregor and bringing in Alexander, but I don't expect Walter to do that.

If Rangers approach this game correctly we have every chance of taking all three points. If we do, the gap at the top will be down to one point before Celtic (who will be expecting us to slip up) kick off at The Piggery, and could put a little but of pressure on them ahead of their game against in-form Hearts. If Rangers do slip up at all, watch for Celtic winning handsomely.

Celtic v Heart of Midlothian - 3pm

This is another interesting one. Hearts are on a great run of form with five wins out of five since losing to Celtic at the start of November. Celtic have not been in great form at home recently, although they have still been winning.

Celtic are getting players back now, with McGeady and Samaras fit again they have a few more options which will make them a wee bit more effective. Hearts haven't got a bad record at Parkhead in recent years though, so this isn't a "gimme" for Celtic.

Having said that, I do expect Celtic to win this one narrowly, no matter the result at Tannadice just before it.

Your thoughts ?

RC Radio's 9am news headlines this morning ended with "Celtic look to increase their lead in the SPL". They had assumed that Rangers were going to drop points and Celtic were going to win. Bearing in mind that Rangers were playing first today, it was a ridiculous headline. All I can say is "get it right up ye Cooney !"

Dundee United 2 Rangers 2

Having not seen any of the game so far and only listened to it on the radio (on my way to watching The Glens) I have to say I wasn't entirely disappointed with that result. There is something about Dundee United which causes us problems, particularly at Tannadice, so to come back from being behind and take something out of the game was a bonus, although it was another two points dropped away from home. It sounds as though we started the game well for a change though.

Celtic dropped points at Tannadice earlier in the season as well, so I didn't regard it as a disastrous result even before kick off at The Piggery.

Celtic 1 Heart of Midlothian 1

I know nothing of the events of this game, other than a wee snippet I heard on the radio at half-time, which said "Hearts have dominated the game, Celtic have yet to have an attempt on goal." Still, I was pleasantly surprised when I found out the score.

If you'd offered me the status quo this morning, with two home games to come for Rangers, I'd have happily taken that.
